This is where you can join Sunshine Butterfly as a staff member! Please apply by filling out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
Before you apply:
- Please make sure to join the Sunshine Butterfly server so that we can find you! If you don't use Discord, please leave your email in the Discord tag box.
- You must be above the age of 16 to apply and above 18 to work on adult content.
- You should be ready to commit a portion of your leisure time to doing scan work with us. Experienced freelancers are welcome however! Just let us know when you apply. But don't worry, we understand if something comes up unexpectedly or you need some time off, just as long as you communicate~
- We are a non-profit BL group. If you are looking for monetary compensation, please check out the official publishers~
- If you do not receive a reply, it might be because 1) we were unable to find/contact you on discord, 2) your experience did not meet our requirements at this time, but you are free to re-apply after gaining more experience, 3) your account was found to be suspicious, 4) our admins are buried under work and personal commitments in which case we will still try to reach you at some point in the future, or 5) we are not recruiting for the role you applied for. We apologize in advance for any delays and appreciate your interest!
Expand Role Requirements
- Korean or Japanese Translator:
Experience NOT required. Cannot rely on machine translation (MTL).
Korean: Intermediate or Advanced level preferred.
Japanese: N1-N3 or equivalent level preferred.
- Korean or Japanese Proofreader:
Experience NOT required. Looks at translator's work in comparison with original language to ensure accuracy.
Korean: Advanced+ or equivalent level preferred.
Japanese: N1+ or equivalent level preferred.
If you are interested in helping as a contact for quick language questions only, please also apply as a PR and mention your expectations in one of the boxes.
- English Proofreader:
Experience required. Native proficiency in English preferred, including a good grasp of grammar, vocabulary, colloquial usages, etc.
- Typesetter:
Experience required. Photoshop is required unless you are applying as a SFX letterer only.
- Cleaner/Redrawer:
Experience required. Tablet or computer is required. Cleans off all text and SFX from the raws.
- Dick Redrawer:
Experience preferred. Tablet is required.
- Raw Provider:
Experience NOT required. Adults only. Require verified adult accounts on one or more official manhwa/manga/manhua sites such as Ridibooks, Bomtoon, Peanutoon, Lezhin, Mr. Blue, Bookcube, Cmoa, Booklive, etc. Or can obtain and scan hardcopy of manga.
- Raw Compiler:
Experience required. Computer required. Can stitch, denoise and process manhwa or manga raws.
- Server Manager/Moderator & Uploader:
Experience not required. Activeness, passion and dedication! Must be committed to be with us long term.
